Hi Everyone! I cannot believe I have only just got round to writing my first ever blog! Time just flies doesn't it?!
I wanted to start off by saying a massive THANK YOU to everyone that has supported me since I first launched in November 2021. I cannot believe how much has happened since then!
From starting my little lockdown hobby to then forming my own business has been quite a journey so far! I have now stepped away from my previous role and am putting everything into trying to make my new venture work!
I just love the satisfaction of lovingly creating these products (Candles, Diffusers & Wax Melts) and seeing them in your homes! Please do tag Tranquil Flame in your Social Media Posts, I love to see them! It give me such a warm feeling, to know that something I have made myself is giving you joy!
So......what else have I been up to?! I am now starting to venture out to markets etc which is just amazing! On 17th April I attended the first of the year, Sudbury Green Market! The sun was shining and I met not only some lovely new customers, but also some amazing local businesses. One lady that stands out to me is Carla from Soaps n Scrubs Suffolk. Carla is just the loveliest lady! She made the effort to come up to me, introduce herself and just really made me feel at ease. The nerves were there, it being my first ever market, and she was really supportive and a lovely, friendly face! So a big THANK YOU to Carla! Her products are just amazing and her bath bombs are going down a treat in my house!
Next, I attended the Women's Mind Body & Soul Event at Lavenham Village Hall on 30th April. This was organised by the lovely Ruth from Alchemy Aesthetics & Wellbeing. The event was a huge success and a massive congratulations to Ruth, who worked so hard organising the evening. One thing I am really enjoying at the moment, is staying local with these markets/events and meeting new customers and local businesses. I love how supportive everyone is of each other and it is lovely putting "names to faces" after following these local businesses on Social Media. The evening was a real "Girl Power" Event and I LOVED that!
I have noticed on my journey so far with Tranquil Flame, that at times, it can be quite lonely. For as long as I remember, I have always gone into an office for work. Even through the pandemic, I rarely worked from home. Now, it does feel strange my boys going off to school and my husband going off to work and me staying behind. However, there are of course pros and cons to this, and it does mean that I can choose the hours I work, around my family life and just generally try and get that work/life balance a bit more. By meeting other local businesses, it is nice to know that these ladies feel the same way that I do at times, and we can just be there for each other and support each other.
I also recently attended a Social Media Workshop at Breakout in Long Melford and again, it was just so nice meeting local people, in the same position as me and it really did not feel like "work"; it felt like we were just meeting up for a cuppa and a chat! Therefore, whilst I love pottering away in my kitchen, getting in the zone of candle making etc; it is also great to get out and meet people; the best of both worlds! I would also really recommend Breakout, they are so knowledgeable and helpful if you have any IT issues etc and Farley is just lovely too!
Finally, I need to let you know what exciting plans I have coming up! New Diffusers are coming in 4 new scents! I cannot wait to share these with you! I have been ordering the labels for these this morning and I am so excited! It is so brilliant, when being your own boss, to see your product come to life from an idea, to the testing, the making and the designing and packaging! I love the variety of the different stages. There is also the admin side and accounts side, and although I sometimes feel there are not enough hours in the day, when trying to do it all on your own, I wouldn't change it for the world and am learning so much being my own boss!
My existing Diffusers are still on Sale, until 10th May 2022 so be quick if you would like to purchase one! They are nearly all gone now, which is just amazing and I am so grateful for everyone's support!
I also intend to bring the new Diffuser scents out in Candles & Wax Melts too. Testing will be beginning on these shortly and I also have potentially two new scents coming out in Soy Candles & Wax Melts too.
